Landing a Teaching Job

I landed my first teaching job by eing honest at my interview. I was asked if I knew about certain programs and techniques, and I didn’t know of a few of them. I told my interviewers that I although I wasn’t familiar with everything being used in the school, I was willing to work overtime to learn them.
I landed my first teaching job because I have always enjoyed learning myself, and I believe that I have the ability to convey my enthusiasm to others. I am confident during interviews, and perform well under pressure.
Landing a teaching job can be hard, but here is some advice to make it easier. When you go for an interview, make it clear that although you are a new teacher with little classroom experience, you will be an enthusiastic participant in all of the opportunities given to you to expand your knowledge of curriculum and instruction. I think that administrators need to feel assured that in this ever-changing world of education, you will be flexible and accommodate whatever type of program that lands in your lap.
Also, make sure that you are punctual, dressed professionally for your interviews, and bring a portfolio containing pictures of anything exciting you did during your student teaching experience.
