Is there Hope for the Children? YES!

I am fortunate enough to have had many positive experiences in 2009. When I visit classrooms, I am always encouraged by how much our children learn from their talented teachers. I see how much effort and thought goes into preparing each lesson the teachers teach, and I am also fortunate to see how much the students enjoy going to school because of them.

This post is a part of the MAT@USC Hope for the holidays event. Did you experience or witness something in 2009 that gave you hope for the future of American education? If so, please see this post for more information on how to share it.

REST

Rest!!! Finally!!! Winter break is upon us and I am loving spending all of this "free" time with my family. I still have to go monitor the schools, but it's not as time consuming as it is when school is in session. I just pretty much need to go make sure that the heat is being turned on at the proper times so the pipes do not freeze.

I plan on spending this break with my beautiful daughter and loving husband. :) Happy Holidays!

Tired

My new position is tiring me out, man! I am really tired. I have had to go visit each of the schools at midnight, then 3am, every night for the past night. I can barely keep my eyes open during the day. What was I thinking?!

New Position

Do I like a full plate, or do I like a full plate? Being a new mother is AMAZING. I adore my child and will do anything and everything I can to better her future. This school year I am taking on a new grade level AND a new position on top of that. I will be the district's energy manager.

In this postion, I will be monitoring the district's use of energy and seeing how we can reduce our energy usage. This is a monumental task, but I am up for it!
